Parish History

Our Lady Help of Christians Parish Narre Warren, is situated in the City of Casey, one of Australia’s fastest growing cities.  It is part of the metropolitan area of Melbourne and is situated to the South East of the City.

Narre Warren is part of the Diocese of Sale, under the leadership of Bishop Jeremiah Coffey.  The Parish began in 1980 and was initially a market garden area, but now boast a population of 80,000 people who commute to Melbourne, Clayton and Dandenong for work.  It is a multicultural Parish and this is very much reflected in our Sunday Liturgies.   Our population is made up of young families and we see part of our Parish responsibilities to provide opportunities for all our families to receive a Catholic Education, if they so desire.

In our Parish we see our role as reaching out and welcome new parishioners.

We strive to remain in contact with as many parishioners as possible by our visitation program and focus on significant church celebrations during the year.
